Why Certification is Free for Mob

First Nation Certified was created to strengthen the visibility, credibility, and economic power of First Nations businesses — not to profit from them. That’s why certification for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander–owned businesses is completely free.

By removing financial barriers, we’re ensuring that more mob-owned businesses can showcase their authenticity and proudly display the First Nation Certified mark across their websites, signage, and networks. This collective visibility builds national recognition and creates a strong, unified presence in the marketplace.

As our certification spreads across First Nations businesses, governments, universities, and corporate Australia will increasingly look for the First Nation Certified mark as a trusted standard — driving demand for engagement, partnerships, and sponsorship. This model allows us to support our people while generating sustainable revenue through corporate partnerships, cultural training, and tailored services — ensuring the benefit flows back to community, where it belongs.

Led by Mob, for Mob

First Nation Certified is First Nations owned, governed, and led. This means that every decision, assessment, and standard is guided by cultural governance and community accountability — not external entities. For many businesses, this matters deeply. Our certification isn’t just about meeting ownership criteria; it’s about mob setting the standard for mob, ensuring cultural integrity remains at the heart of verification.

Why Mob Should Join First Nation Certified

Joining First Nation Certified is about more than a logo, it’s about standing together and leading the way for our communities. By becoming certified, your business becomes part of a powerful national network that showcases authentic First Nations ownership, leadership, and cultural integrity. It gives you a respected mark that sets you apart, builds trust with government, corporates, and the wider community, and connects you to real opportunities. Best of all, certification is free for mob, because we believe in breaking down barriers, backing our own, and making sure every First Nations business  no matter the size has the platform to be seen, respected, and supported.
